The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in Pakistan has issued an alert for potential aircraft slippage on Runway 25L at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, particularly during night hours when wet conditions are more likely.
As seasonal changes lead to higher dew levels, moisture on the runway increases the risk of slippage, making night-time operations particularly hazardous. In its advisory, the CAA urged pilots to exercise caution and maintain heightened awareness, especially when landing on the affected runway.
Airlines have been advised to follow strict safety protocols to avoid accidents, with CAA officials closely monitoring the runway conditions. Over the coming days, Karachi will experience dry and sunny weather, with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 23°C.
Humidity is expected to stay high, around 88%, contributing to the wet conditions on the runway during nighttime. Wednesday is forecasted to be pleasant with clear skies, while temperatures may drop slightly. Thursday may bring partly cloudy skies, with temperatures between 20°C and 22°C.
Weather forecasts suggest cooler nights in Karachi by mid-November, although no significant rainfall is expected in the near future. The city is likely to experience clear and sunny conditions overall, making daytime operations smoother for airlines.
