Pakistan Blind Cricket Announce Squad for T20 World Cup

The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has unveiled a 16-player squad for the highly anticipated fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, set to commence on November 23 on home soil.

The squad, carefully selected by committee members Masood Jan, Muhammad Jamil, and Tahir Mehmood Butt, was given the final nod by PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah.

Leading the team is the experienced Nisar Ali, with the dynamic Badar Munir stepping in as vice-captain. This squad is a blend of players from three categories based on visual ability, showcasing a diverse range of skills.

The participation of the current World Champions in the tournament, however, remains a mystery thus far.

Pakistan Blind Cricket Squad:

Category  Players
B1 Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Idrees Saleem, Muhammad Shahzaib, Fakhar Abbas, Muhammad Asif, and Muhammad Salman.
B2 Babar Ali, Naimatullah, and Haroon Khan.
B3 Muhammad Safdar, Kamran Akhtar, Akmal Hayat Nasir, Talha Iqbal, and Mutiullah.

Rounding out the team are reserve players Muhammad Ayaz, Moin Aslam, and Muhammad Rashid, while the support staff includes head coach Muhammad Jamil, assistant coach Masood Jan, team manager Malik Abrar Hussain, assistant manager Naveed Hussain Abbasi, and trainer Tahir Mehmood Butt.

Pakistan will kick off its campaign with an exciting opener against South Africa in Lahore.

PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, noting the blend of seasoned talent and promising newcomers who have shone in domestic play.

“We hope the Pakistani team will meet the nation’s expectations in the World Cup,” he said, voicing confidence in the squad’s potential to deliver memorable performances on the global stage.
