Punjab Police’s latest issue has surfaced, where 171 constables were hired but their records were withheld. This revelation came from the Auditor General’s 2023-24 report, which has been submitted to the Punjab Assembly.
According to the report, the DPO office in Nankana Sahib did not provide records for the 171 hires. Neither the documentation for these male and female constables exists in the office, nor was it presented to the auditor.
The report noted that the withholding of information raises doubts about the recruitment process. These constables were hired at BPS-07 in Nankana Sahib, and the situation is attributed to weak administrative and internal controls.
