Four-Year-Old Crushed to Death by Metro Bus in Rawalpindi

A devastating incident occurred at the Liaquat Bagh Metro Station, where a four-year-old child lost his life after being crushed by a metro bus.

According to police, the tragic accident took place when the child, identified as Rehan, a resident of Amarpura, was deboarding the bus with his mother. As the bus stopped at the station, Rehan was holding his mother’s hand while stepping off.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, he slipped and fell onto the metro track. Before his mother or anyone else could intervene, the bus driver resumed driving, resulting in the boy being crushed under the wheels.

Following the incident, the metro bus driver fled the scene, while metro administration officials were also reported to be missing from the site. Police from Waris Khan Station arrived promptly at the location and began legal proceedings.

Officials confirmed that they are investigating the incident thoroughly to hold those responsible accountable.

Since the launch of the Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service, numerous tragic accidents have claimed lives, raising concerns among the public. Citizens have urged the government to take immediate and effective steps to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of passengers using the metro service.
