Pakistan Name Two Debutants in Playing XI for Second Zimbabwe ODI

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the playing XI for the second ODI of the three-match series against Zimbabwe, scheduled in Bulawayo today.

The team has made notable changes, with middle-order batter Tayyab Tahir and leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed set to make their ODI debuts. They replace Haseebullah Khan and Mohammad Hasnain as Pakistan looks to test its bench strength and provide opportunities to emerging players.

Debutants Ready to Shine

Tayyab Tahir, 31, has earned his spot following consistent performances in domestic cricket and will aim to make a strong impression on the international stage. Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed, a talented “mystery” spinner, has been called up to bolster Pakistan’s bowling attack and add variety to their spin options.

The changes come after Pakistan suffered a heavy 80-run defeat under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in the rain-hit first ODI on Sunday. Chasing a modest 206-run target, Pakistan struggled and was reduced to 60/6 before rain stopped the game at Queen’s Sports Club.

With Zimbabwe leading the series 1-0, Pakistan faces a must-win situation to keep their hopes alive in the three-match contest.
