The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced an 18 paisa per unit reduction in electricity prices for Karachi consumers under the September 2024 monthly adjustment, according to ARY News.
This reduction will be reflected in electricity bills issued in December 2024. However, it will not apply to consumers using up to 300 units of electricity per month, as specified in NEPRA’s notification.
Earlier, K-Electric had requested a reduction of 16 paisa per unit for the September adjustment and sought approval to refund Rs. 247 million to its consumers as part of the adjustment.
The notification highlights the ongoing adjustments in electricity tariffs, with varying increases and reductions impacting consumers differently based on their monthly usage and the adjustment cycle.
