The Punjab government has initiated plans to extend the Green Line Metro Bus service from Lahore to Kasur, to improve public transportation for residents in the region.
To expand the city’s metro network, a feasibility study has been ordered by Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This study will assess the viability of extending the metro bus track from Gajumata to Kasur City, ensuring that the expansion is practical and cost-effective.
The Punjab Transport Department is already working on this feasibility study. The findings will help determine the funding and resources required to complete the project.
Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan emphasized that the expansion of the Green Line Metro Bus service is part of a broader initiative to enhance the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. Once completed, the extended metro bus service will bring reliable public transport to the residents of Kasur, offering greater connectivity and convenience.
The Minister added that the final decision on funding will depend on the feasibility study, which will outline the necessary steps to link Kasur to Lahore’s metro network.
Wastage of money. Practically not possible or loss making.

Metro bus service to Raiwind should be extended also. Provisionally, Speedo buses which runs to Bhubatian should be extended to Raiwind

In 1st phase it should be extended to Muridke or Kalla Shah Kaku as various universities, housing schemes and motorways are concerned to Gujranwala GT road. Industrial zones too.
Kasur road must be in next or later on phase as it is lengthy span as compared to Shadrah and Kalla Shah Kaku

Need first to complete shadra to Gugrawala Road because it’s very very busy Road . And peoples to need this services .
What about metro feeder bus routes of rawalpindi?
All public related projects must be fruitful for common man. Only because of politics we criticise not fair. Hope in future from shahdra to Muridkey will also part of this plan.
There should be Metro bus extension from thoker to bahria town .
