Mari Petroleum Company Limited (PSX: MARI) has surpassed Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC) to become the largest company on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) by market capitalization for the first time.
In a post on X, Topline Securities CEO Mohammed Sohail highlighted that MARI’s market value now stands at Rs. 984 billion ($3.5 billion) compared to OGDC’s market value of Rs. 963 billion ($3.4 billion).
Sohail also pointed out that at the same time last year OGDC ranked first while MARI was at number seven.
He attributed Mari’s rise to expectations of hydrocarbon discoveries and a major bonus share announcement earlier this year.
