Govt Creates New Dept to Fight Anti-State Agenda, Monitor Real-Time User Activity

The Prime Minister has approved the deployment of the Digital Communication Department. Funds will be utilized to create counter-narratives against anti-state propaganda, sources told ProPakistani.

National security threats will be addressed as part of this initiative. The government’s capacity to detect digital threats will be enhanced as well, as per sources. The Digital Communication Department will also conduct real-time monitoring of online activities.

A total of 54 positions have been created within the Digital Communication Department. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has immediately requested Rs. 530 million, sources disclosed. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) is expected to approve the release of funds on December 19.
