Samsung Galaxy S22 Faces Major Issues After One UI 6.1 Update

Samsung Galaxy S22 users are experiencing significant problems following the One UI 6.1 update, ranging from minor display lag to severe boot loop failures that render devices unusable. Reports of these problems have flooded Samsung forums, Reddit, and social media, as frustrated users demand accountability from the company.

Key Issues Reported

  • Boot Loop: Many devices are stuck in endless boot loops, making them unusable. Efforts to fix the problem, such as clearing caches, factory resets, or visiting Samsung service centers, have proven ineffective.
  • Wi-Fi Triggered Restarts: For some users, enabling Wi-Fi causes devices to restart repeatedly. Even after resetting network settings, entering safe mode, or performing factory resets, the issue persists.
  • High Repair Costs: Samsung service centers have blamed the failures on motherboard defects, yet many users have been denied warranty coverage due to minor cosmetic damages, such as small screen cracks. Repair costs range from ₹41,000 (~$483) in India to over $600 in the UK, leaving users outraged.

A user in India reported that their S22 Ultra failed after the update, causing them to lose valuable data. They were quoted ₹41,000 for repairs despite their device having no prior issues. A UK user criticized Samsung for attributing the boot loop issue to minor screen damage, questioning how undamaged devices were similarly affected.

Another user described their S22 Ultra restarting endlessly when Wi-Fi was enabled, with troubleshooting attempts proving futile.

A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) shows an S22 Ultra stuck in a boot loop. According to the service center, the issue stems from a motherboard defect, even though the device had no physical damage.

No Response From Samsung

Samsung has yet to release an official statement addressing these widespread complaints. Users are increasingly frustrated with the lack of accountability, especially given the premium pricing of the Galaxy S22 series. Calls for free repairs or refunds continue to grow as more cases emerge.

The situation suggests a possible software-related defect linked to the One UI 6.1 update. As users await Samsung’s response, the company faces mounting pressure to resolve the issue and restore customer confidence. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they develop.
