Government Announces Public Holiday on December 25

The federal government has declared Wednesday, December 25, 2024, a public holiday to mark the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

According to an official notification, all banks and other institutions nationwide will remain closed on this day. Similarly, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) issued a separate notice confirming that all banking institutions, including commercial banks, will observe the holiday.

The nation will honor the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam, with great respect and enthusiasm. Celebrations will kick off with ceremonial gun salutes in federal and provincial capitals. A formal change of guard ceremony will also be held at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi.

Official programs and events will take place throughout the country to pay tribute to Quaid’s legacy, leadership, and crucial role in establishing Pakistan.

In addition, numerous social and political groups, non-governmental organizations, and forums have organized special activities and events to commemorate the occasion.
