Faisalabad police have started using body cameras during patrols and investigations to enhance the transparency and effectiveness of their work. The initiative, which aims to record statements and evidence, is being tested with a limited number of officers.
Under the trial phase, 10 Dolphin Force squads and 11 investigative teams have been provided with these body cameras. Police officials believe that this modern technology will improve the quality of investigations by providing concrete evidence against criminals, while also tracking officers’ performance.
According to police authorities, the body cameras, attached to officers’ uniforms, will record video footage when conducting searches on vehicles or motorcycles. The move is part of a broader effort to align with modern policing methods and ensure accountability.
The results of the trial phase will determine whether the use of body cameras will be expanded across the police force. If successful, this initiative could play a significant role in improving law enforcement practices in the region.
