The Organized Crime Unit (OCU) in Lahore has apprehended a three-member gang responsible for robbing luxury homes in the Defence area. The suspects were found with stolen items, including 200 tolas of gold, diamond jewelry, high-end watches, and cash valued at approximately Rs. 88 million.
The arrested individuals, identified as Kiran Amanat, Asif Ali, and Javed, used sophisticated methods to target affluent households. Officials revealed that Kiran Amanat, the female suspect, secured employment in upscale homes under pretenses and collaborated with her accomplices to carry out the robberies.
Investigations showed that Kiran gained homeowners’ trust by working as a domestic helper before coordinating thefts with her partners. The gang is believed to be involved in multiple burglaries, and authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover additional crimes.
DIG OCU Imran Kishwar attributed the successful arrests to modern technology, IT experts, and the efforts of seasoned officers. He emphasized that operations against serious crimes like theft, robbery, drug trafficking, and extortion are ongoing throughout Lahore.
DIG Kishwar praised the OCU’s role in dismantling criminal networks and reiterated the police force’s commitment to reducing crime. He assured the public that combating organized crime remains a top priority.
The suspects are currently in custody, with further investigations underway to recover additional stolen items and identify other accomplices.
