An Indian agent’s involvement in smuggling Pakistani citizens to Europe and other countries through Azerbaijan has been uncovered. Four passengers detained in Karachi from Baku have provided critical information.
According to officials from the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA), the suspects—Haseeb Ahmed, Qaiser Ahmed, Usman Ali, and agent Abdul Shakoor—were apprehended during an immigration operation at Karachi airport on Friday.
The individuals are from Faisalabad, Chiniot, Gujranwala, and Nankana Sahib. Shakoor allegedly arranged deals worth Rs 1.4 million each to send the others to Poland. The suspects paid an advance of Rs. 250,000 each.
The plan was for them to travel illegally from Azerbaijan to Poland. Significant evidence was found on Shakoor’s mobile phone. FIA officials revealed that Shakoor had connections with an Indian agent, Gautam Sharma, in Azerbaijan.
Sharma was to help transport the suspects from Baku to Poland illegally. The detainees have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further investigation.
