Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has heaped praise on Pakistan’s all-rounder and limited-overs vice-captain, Salman Ali Agha, acknowledging his growing stature in international cricket.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harsha Bhogle highlighted Salman Ali Agha’s immense potential and his value as a multifaceted cricketer.
Reflecting on his observations from Pakistan’s tour of Australia, Bhogle shared his admiration for Salman’s abilities.
“I know Pakistan likes Saud Shakeel, but when I saw another young player at the end of last year in Australia, I just thought, ‘He can bowl and he can definitely bat—more of a batter than a bowler—but he is some player,'” Bhogle remarked.
“I am very happy that it has started to get reflected in the numbers, and it is Salman Ali Agha. I hope we see more of him,” he added, emphasizing Salman’s contributions as both a batter and a bowler.
The year 2024 proved pivotal for Salman Ali Agha. His consistent performances with both bat and ball solidified his reputation as one of Pakistan’s key players.
During the ODI series against South Africa, Salman Agha also emerged as Pakistan’s third-highest run-scorer, with 163 runs at an exceptional average of 81.50.
Following Babar Azam’s resignation as white-ball captain, Salman was elevated to vice-captain under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership. His leadership credentials were further showcased when he captained Pakistan to a 2-1 series victory in a T20I series against Zimbabwe.
