The government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) has introduced new entry fees for vehicles and motorcycles entering the region to regulate tourism and generate revenue for sustainable development.
According to a recent notification, tourist vehicles will now be charged Rs. 2,000, while motorcycles entering GB will pay Rs. 500. This move is aimed at managing the increasing influx of visitors to the region, which is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and high-altitude destinations.
These fees are expected to contribute to maintaining infrastructure, managing waste, and preserving the natural beauty of the area. With tourism on the rise, GB’s roads and facilities have come under significant pressure, necessitating measures to support their upkeep.
In addition to these vehicle fees, the government has revised permit charges for mountaineering and trekking, ensuring that the region benefits from the increasing interest in its peaks and trails. While these changes may increase costs for visitors, they reflect the administration’s commitment to sustainable tourism and responsible resource management.

Good old jeep
All these financial taxes are not implemented by the **Peoples Representatives of the Unions Counsels but by the Corrupt Thieves of Government Civil Servants**??. The poor conditions of all the connecting roads are very poor and damaged , except only Karakrum Highway which is of very high standards operated and maintained by FOW. No improvements we can expect from these ** Mafias of Civil Servants And Contractors Builders Companies??**.
It’s a good step, but make sure this should contribute to provide Al least basic facilities like washroom.
