In a remarkable act of humanity and bravery, Pakistani citizen Asif Bashir has been nominated for a prestigious Indian Civil Award for his life-saving efforts during Hajj 2024.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, upon learning of the incident, has directed the Foreign Office and Ministry of Religious Affairs to provide a comprehensive inquiry report regarding the Mina rescue operation. The Prime Minister expressed a strong interest in understanding the circumstances of the event and the international recognition it has received, according to an official letter issued by SAPM Tariq Fatimi.
During last year’s Hajj, amid extreme heat in Mina, Asif Bashir voluntarily undertook a heroic rescue mission, saving 44 individuals, including 24 Indian nationals, from succumbing to the severe weather. Despite the lack of immediate medical assistance, Bashir physically carried pilgrims to safety, showcasing extraordinary courage and selflessness.
The Indian government has acknowledged his heroic efforts, inviting him to receive the award on January 26, 2025. This recognition has also drawn significant attention in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister has instructed both the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Foreign Office to clarify whether officials at the Hajj Office in Saudi Arabia, the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh, or the Consulate General in Jeddah were aware of Bashir’s actions. The ministries have been tasked with submitting detailed reports by the end of the week, along with recommendations on whether Asif Bashir should receive formal recognition from the Government of Pakistan for his exemplary service.
Sources indicate that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif intends to honor Asif Bashir’s bravery and humanitarian efforts before he receives the Indian award.

Pakistan embassy in KSA have no concern and interest with such achievements. That all relatives of elite are deputed on such positions to earn money. Indian system is working and that is why they are now big economy.
What Pakistani government is doing where other countries noticed who did more efforts voluntarily during Hajj and recognizing. Pakistani government not watching such incidents reports. Shame on Pakistani government.
Now after news in internet, Pakistani government running to step forward and recognize and award in hurry.
That is is great recognition for Pakistan Person from Indian side. Great Gesture and motivation.capcut template
