The Ministry of Religious Affairs is set to open applications for 5,000 more pilgrims under the Hajj scheme in the coming days. This announcement was made during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs, chaired by MNA Aamir Dogar.
The session focused on preparations for the upcoming Hajj season, with officials emphasizing that food quality for pilgrims will not be compromised. The committee also discussed the need for enhanced training to guide pilgrims effectively.
Committee member Mujahid Ali highlighted the importance of proper instruction for those performing Hajj, while Aamir Dogar acknowledged progress in raising awareness and providing training at Hajj camps.
In response to a query by Asiya Naz Tanoli about the absence of Pakistan Houses in Makkah and Madinah, the Secretary of Religious Affairs explained that Saudi laws prohibit constructing such facilities on independent land.
The Secretary further noted that services previously offered for free, such as water coolers, now require payment. However, he assured the committee that the Ministry is committed to ensuring all necessary facilities are available for pilgrims.
