Sabzazar police have apprehended a young man named Usman, accused of murdering Muhammad Riaz on January 1 in exchange for two Umrah tickets and a motorcycle.
According to a police official, the suspect was allegedly hired by Imtiaz, the deceased’s brother-in-law, due to a property dispute.
Imtiaz had previously transferred ownership of his house to his wife but demanded it back after a domestic conflict. His wife refused, stating she would consult her brother, Riaz, before deciding.
The disagreement escalated into heated arguments, prompting Imtiaz’s wife to leave his home and move in with Riaz. Imtiaz is alleged to have hired Usman to carry out the murder.
Police tracked the suspects using Safe City cameras and call data records. While Usman has been arrested, raids are underway to apprehend the other suspect, the official added.
