ECC to Spend Rs. 3.1 Billion on Independence Day Celebrations, Marka-e-Haq Monument

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Wednesday approved Rs. 1.289 billion as a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) to fund Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq celebrations.

It also approved Rs. 2 billion for the construction of the Marka-e-Haq Monument in Islamabad, with the project to be executed by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

These decisions were taken during an ECC meeting chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division.

The funds will support nationwide commemorative events marking Independence Day, while the new monument is expected to serve as a permanent national memorial dedicated to Marka-e-Haq.

Apart from the commemorative initiatives, the ECC cleared several supplementary grants for development projects, government departments, and operational requirements across multiple ministries.
