Quetta Now Issues International Driving Licenses

Quetta has taken a significant step towards modernizing its transport infrastructure by officially beginning the issuance of International Driving Licenses.

The initiative was inaugurated during a surprise visit by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti to the Motorway Police’s Driving License Centre in Quetta. During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the licensing process and even expressed his interest in obtaining an International Driving License.

To set an example, he completed the theoretical and practical driving tests, after which his application was submitted for processing in Islamabad.

In his statement, the Chief Minister commended the efficient and transparent operations of the Motorway Police, noting that the system reflects the trust of the public. He also applauded the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) for maintaining international standards for driving licenses, which has played a key role in restoring public confidence.

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti further emphasized the importance of adopting a modern and transparent licensing framework for the public. He highlighted the NHMP’s professionalism, saying, “This system showcases the NHMP’s capabilities and is a testament to the success of their efforts.”

The launch of International Driving Licenses in Quetta is expected to bring significant benefits, improving mobility and connectivity for drivers while aligning the region with global standards for road safety and driving regulations.
