Thick Fog Disrupts Traffic Across Motorways in Punjab

The Motorway Police have announced the closure of several motorways due to dense fog affecting visibility in various regions. Motorway M-2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, M-3 from Lahore to Abdul Hakeem, M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad, and M-11 from Lahore to Sialkot have been closed for all types of traffic as of early Tuesday morning.

Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmad stated that thick fog blanketed sections of the National Highway, including areas around Thokar Niaz Baig, Pattoki, Okara, and Sahiwal. He emphasized that the decision to close the motorways was made to ensure the safety and security of passengers.

Highlighting the dangers posed by fog, Ahmad explained that poor visibility often leads to lane violations, a major cause of accidents during such conditions. He urged drivers to maintain lane discipline and plan their journeys during daylight hours, ideally between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., when visibility tends to improve.
