On the instructions of Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, banners displaying the fixed rate of PKR 14,300 set by KMC have been installed in all registered cemeteries in Karachi.
In this regard, Sarwar Alam, Director of Cemeteries, visited cemeteries operating under KMC’s jurisdiction. He instructed all workers in these cemeteries to adhere strictly to KMC’s bylaws and prescribed rates. Additionally, it was emphasized that no individual without KMC registration would be allowed to work in the cemeteries.
These directives will be strictly enforced, and anyone charged more than the fixed rates will face stern action.
It is worth noting that certain mafias in the city’s cemeteries were extorting extra money from citizens. In response, the Mayor of Karachi took decisive action, and banners displaying the official rates for graves have now been placed in KMC-managed cemeteries.
