Turkey and Pakistan to Collaborate on KAAN Jet and Helicopter

Türkiye and Pakistan are progressing in discussions on key bilateral defense and industrial partnerships, with particular emphasis on the potential export of Türkiye’s fifth-generation fighter jet, KAAN. These talks took place during the eighth meeting of the Pak-Turk Industrial Expo Joint Working Group in Pakistan.

Representatives from 32 organizations, including major companies from both countries, participated in the discussions.

  • Türkiye’s delegation was led by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) General Manager Mehmet Demiroglu and included representatives from companies such as Milsoft, Crypttech, SDT, Aselsan, and Havelsan.
  • Pakistan was represented by officials from 23 companies.

The discussions centered on two significant projects:

  1. The potential export of Türkiye’s KAAN fifth-generation fighter jet to Pakistan.
  2. Plans for the co-design and production of a new helicopter, though its intended purpose remain undisclosed.
