Govt to Stop Advertising and Hiring for New Jobs in Next Budget

The Ministry of Finance has initiated preparations for the 2025-26 federal budget focusing on streamlining federal government expenditures.

According to official documents seen by ProPakistani, the Finance Division has directed all ministries and divisions that all vacant/redundant posts (lying vacant/idle for more than three years) are required to be reported and abolished as per Financial Management & Powers of PAOS Regulations, 2021.

No BO/NIS form will be accepted in which ERE has been claimed unless supported with details of posts. It may be ensured that the total number of posts reflected in Form-X are same as in BO/NIS, the documents stated.

Form-X shall be endorsed by the Expenditure Wing, Finance Division. All Divisions/Departments/Sub-ordinate Offices/Organizations/Entities are required to submit copies of the Sanction Letters along with the Approving Authority.

The documents revealed that no new post shall be created in the Divisions/Departments/Sub-ordinate Offices/Organizations/Entities except with the prior approval of the Finance Division.

The ministry has directed all ministries, divisions, and departments to provide comprehensive details about approved, filled, and vacant posts by February 6, 2025.

The ministry has instructed departments to submit data on the status of approved posts as of January 31, 2025.
