In the past 24 hours, 258 Pakistanis were deported from seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China. Among them, 14 held Pakistani passports, while 244 were sent back on emergency travel documents.
Immigration officials reported that upon their arrival in Karachi, 16 deportees, including one with a suspicious identity, were arrested, while the others were released after questioning.
Saudi Arabia accounted for 232 deportees, including seven beggars. Deportations occurred via multiple flights, with two individuals sent back after serving sentences for performing Hajj without permits. Four overstayed their Umrah visas, 27 were working without a sponsor (kafeel), 16 exceeded visa validity, 112 faced complaints from sponsors, and 63 were deported for other reasons.
From the UAE, 21 individuals were deported, including four involved in drug trafficking. Additionally, one person each was deported from China, Qatar, Indonesia, Cyprus, and Nigeria. Among the deportees from the UAE and Nigeria, 16 individuals were listed on the FIA’s immigration stop list but were released after interrogation.
Immigration sources noted a significant rise in deportations.
Separately, the FIA’s Immigration Cell offloaded 35 passengers at Karachi airport in the past 24 hours for incomplete documentation or other issues.
Passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visas were offloaded due to a lack of advance hotel bookings and insufficient funds. Those on work visas were stopped for not having proper documentation, while individuals traveling to the UAE on tourism visas faced similar issues. A passenger bound for Malaysia was offloaded due to the absence of a visa protector stamp, while others heading to Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Oman faced similar challenges due to missing documents, insufficient funds, or lack of bookings.
Authorities stressed the importance of passengers ensuring complete documentation, proper visas, bookings, and sufficient funds to avoid such situations.
