PTCL Adds Bandwidth to Mitigate Submarine Cable Outage Impact

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has taken steps to address the internet disruptions caused by the AAE-1 submarine cable outage.

The company has added additional bandwidth, significantly improving internet performance for users. However, PTCL warned that some users may still experience slowness on Meta-related services, including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, during peak hours.

The Ministry of IT and Telecom, in coordination with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and PTCL, is closely monitoring the situation to ensure a complete resolution in the coming days.

PTCL appreciated the patience and understanding of its customers during this time, assuring that efforts are being made to fully restore internet services.

  • How much is PTCL paying for these articles?

They can keep saying they have arranged additional bandwidth, but the browsing experience on PTCL says otherwise. The internet is unbearably slow most of the day, yet the bills keep going up and they don’t even have the decency to compensate the users for this pathetic experience they’re providing.
