In August 2024, Pakistan launched a groundbreaking initiative, offering free online visas to citizens of over 120 countries. This move has significantly boosted tourism, making it easier for global travelers to experience the country’s rich cultural, historical, and natural wonders.

The recognition by the Financial Times reflects Pakistan’s dedication to promoting its diverse tourism potential. With ongoing improvements to infrastructure and facilitation of travel, the country is well-positioned to become a leading destination for adventure and cultural tourism in 2025 and beyond.

Additionally, CNN Travel recently included Gilgit-Baltistan in its list of the “Top 25 Destinations to Visit in 2025.” Situated in the majestic Karakoram Mountains, Gilgit-Baltistan is a paradise for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers.

CNN Travel’s article, titled “Where to Go in 2025: The Best Places to Visit,” highlighted Pakistan’s resurgence as an adventure travel hotspot. It noted that in the 1970s, Pakistan was a key stop on the famed “Hippie Trail,” thanks to its sublime mountain scenery, before political instability hindered tourism. However, the country’s epic peaks remain as alluring as ever.

The article praised Gilgit-Baltistan’s unique allure, stating, “The Karakoram Mountains aren’t the easiest place to reach—flight schedules can be unpredictable, and roads may be seasonally blocked—but the region boasts more tantalizing peaks than a lemon meringue pie.”

With its unparalleled natural beauty and efforts to revive tourism, Pakistan is set to reclaim its status as a must-visit destination for 2025 and beyond.
