Pakistan to Appoint 19 New Ambassadors Across The World

The Foreign Office has sent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a summary proposing the appointments of 19 Pakistani ambassadors and consuls general for various countries.

According to sources, the Prime Minister will approve the summary following the Foreign Ministry’s recommendations.

Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Secretary at the Board of Investment, has been nominated as ambassador to Brussels, home to the EU headquarters. Asima Rabbani is set to become ambassador to the Philippines, while Abdul Hameed Bhutta has been proposed for Japan.

Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, a former Foreign Office spokesperson, is recommended for Indonesia, and Najeeb Durrani is nominated for Ghana. Moazzam Shah is likely to be sent to South Korea, Malik Muhammad Farooq to South Africa, and Syed Adil Gilani to Morocco. Tariq Karim and Aqsa Nawaz are expected to represent Pakistan in other African nations.

Syed Haider Shah has been proposed for the Netherlands, Amir Shaukat for Egypt, Shehryar Akbar for the Czech Republic, and Marghoob Saleem Butt for Switzerland.

Zaman Mehdi is recommended for consular roles for Chicago, Wajid Hashmi for Melbourne, Tanveer Bhatti for Chengdu, China, and Imtiaz Gondal for Manchester.
