A meeting, chaired by WASA Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed, was held to comprehensively review revenue collection efforts. The session was attended by all directors of operations and officials from the revenue wing.
During the meeting, MD WASA directed officials to submit ward-wise reports daily. He emphasized that negligence in revenue collection would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Ghufran Ahmed instructed all directors to continue operations against defaulters without any exceptions. Actions to disconnect water and sewerage connections of defaulters were ordered, along with strict instructions to register FIRs against those with illegal connections.
Additionally, he urged the officers to take practical measures to address public grievances effectively and ensure prompt resolution of issues.

What about negligence by wasa staff? They never update the bills, keep asking for bribe, consumers have first have to pay then again go to present them a photocopy of paid bill because these incompetents not even able to cross check the paid bills. And they also don’t even have the mechanism to issue the consumer id on first bill therefore you cannot pay that online neither you can check. MD should first do his homework before acting like he is doing a lot but in reality he is completely unaware of his own and his dept incompetence.
