Fatwa Issued Against One-Wheeling, Kite Flying, and Aerial Firing

Religious scholars in Lahore have issued a fatwa declaring one-wheeling, kite flying, and aerial firing against Islamic teachings.

The fatwa states that any action putting human lives at risk is un-Islamic, as Islam places the highest importance on protecting life. Scholars described these activities as extremely hazardous, equating them to acts of self-harm.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran highlighted the risks of these practices, pointing out that Islam forbids actions that can lead to self-harm. He noted that incidents involving sharp kite strings and stray bullets from aerial firing have claimed many lives.

Over the past 20 days, police have arrested 151 people for one-wheeling and registered 150 cases for kite flying. Additionally, 118 individuals involved in aerial firing have been jailed.

Authorities pledged to continue strict action to eliminate these life-threatening activities. They also urged parents to prevent their children from participating in such harmful behaviors.

The combined efforts of religious leaders and law enforcement aim to raise public awareness, enforce safety measures, and curb activities that endanger lives and violate Islamic principles.
