PSL’s MVP Expresses Excitement for Upcoming Season

Pakistan’s premier spin all-rounder, Shadab Khan, has set his sights on leading Islamabad United to more glory in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), scheduled to take place in April and May this year. The dynamic cricketer, who was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the PSL 10 draft and Best All-Rounder of the league last season, is determined to raise the bar for both himself and his team.

In a statement released by Islamabad United, Shadab Khan expressed his excitement and revealed his aspirations for the upcoming season. “Being named PSL’s MVP and Best All-Rounder last season was an incredible honor,” said Shadab. “But my focus now is on helping the team win again. I’ve worked on a few aspects of my game during the off-season, and I hope to translate that effort into performances on the field.”

Shadab Khan, who played a pivotal role in United’s record third PSL title in 2024, emphasized the franchise’s commitment to player development and excellence. “Islamabad United has been instrumental in my career. This franchise doesn’t just prioritize results but also the growth and well-being of its players. That’s why we have those three trophies—it’s a team built on care and excellence,” he remarked.

A significant focus for Shadab Khan this season is mentoring rising all-rounder Saad Masood, a promising addition to Islamabad United’s squad. “I see a lot of myself in Saad when I was starting out,” Shadab Khan shared. “We can’t guarantee him game time, but we’ll ensure he’s nurtured, guided, and groomed into a future star. Our aim is not just his contribution this season but his long-term development as a cricketer.”

Shadab Khan’s contribution to Islamabad United’s dominance in the PSL has been remarkable. With 305 runs and 14 wickets in the previous edition, he clinched the Player of the Tournament award. Throughout his PSL career, Shadab has amassed 1,240 runs and taken 91 wickets in 84 matches, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s finest players.
