Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched Pakistan’s first “Chief Minister Minority Card” during a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Complex on Wednesday.
The initiative will benefit 50,000 minority families, who will receive Rs. 10,500 every three months. The number of recipients is expected to rise to 75,000 in the future.
Additionally, festival grants for minorities have been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000, while the annual development budget for minority communities has been raised by 60%.
CM Maryam Nawaz distributed the minority cards and personally observed a transaction made at an ATM using Sonia Bibi’s card.
Religious leaders, including Bishop Nadeem Kamran, Sardar Saranjit Singh, and Pandit Lal, offered prayers for the success of the program.
Ramesh Singh Arora, the Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, expressed gratitude in Punjabi, thanking the Chief Minister for her commitment to improving the lives of minority communities.
