Samsung Confirms the Rumored S25 Slim is Called “S25 Edge”

After its Unpacked event, where Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, the company dropped a teaser for its next device: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Reviving the Edge name after years of absence, Samsung has positioned this upcoming device as an ultra-thin addition to its flagship lineup.

This seems to be the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim we have been hearing about, except the official name is actually the S25 Edge.

A Return to “Edge”

The Galaxy S25 Edge will be Samsung’s thinnest smartphone yet. While the teaser didn’t reveal much, rumors suggest it will be a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25+, with notable trade-offs to achieve its ultra-thin profile. Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy S25 Edge with only two rear cameras, unlike the triple-camera setup on other S25 models.

The design hints at minimal compromises in style, but the reduced battery capacity could be a concern for potential buyers.

Expected Launch and Pricing

Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in May 2025, likely unveiling it earlier. Samsung will price the S25 Edge between the S25+ and S25 Ultra, targeting consumers who prioritize design and portability over extra features.

Samsung’s move to revive the Edge series could reignite interest in the brand’s emphasis on slim and stylish designs. However, it raises the question of how much consumers are willing to compromise on battery life and camera capabilities for the sake of thinness. With the iPhone 17 Air vying for a similar audience, the Galaxy S25 Edge’s performance in the market will be an interesting test of how far the ultra-thin smartphone trend can go.
