Man Punished For Leaking Woman’s Private Pictures To Her Fiancé

A judicial magistrate has sentenced a man to six years in prison for blackmailing a woman by sharing her private images and videos with her fiancé through WhatsApp.

The court found Muhammad Anas guilty under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, for violating dignity, modesty, and engaging in cyberstalking. He was sentenced to two years for each charge.

The woman had been in a relationship with the accused for several years and had voluntarily shared personal images and videos with him. After their relationship ended, Anas used this material against her, sending it to her fiancé and family members in an attempt to humiliate and control her.

A forensic analysis confirmed that the explicit content was sent from the accused’s device, strengthening the prosecution’s case. The court emphasized that the distribution of these images was deliberate and meant to harm the woman emotionally and socially.

The victim initially filed a complaint with the FIA Cyber Crime Cell, stating that after she got engaged to another person, Anas retaliated by sending the images to her fiancé, sister, and aunt. The court’s ruling holds him accountable for the crime, reinforcing the legal consequences of digital harassment and blackmail.
