Team Envision to Represent Pakistan at Shell Eco-Marathon 2025

In an exciting development for Pakistan’s innovation and sustainability efforts, Team Envision, the celebrated student team from PNEC-NUST, is set to participate in the prestigious Shell Eco-marathon 2025 (SEMA 2025) in Qatar. With a history of excellence in energy-efficient vehicle design, Team Envision is once again ready to showcase its groundbreaking work on the global stage.

History

For the past 15 years, Team Envision has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing energy-efficient and eco-friendly vehicles, proudly representing Pakistan on international platforms. Competing in prestigious events such as the Shell Eco-marathon and the Teknofest Efficiency Challenge Turkiye, the team has consistently showcased its innovation and expertise against some of the world’s top student automotive teams. As part of NUST, Team Envision has earned a distinguished reputation by winning multiple technical and communication awards. Their mission is to advance sustainable automotive technology while inspiring future engineers and innovators across Pakistan.

A Legacy of Excellence

Team Envision, established in 2009 at NUST PNEC Karachi, has a rich legacy of innovation and achievements in the Shell Eco-marathon. Over 12 years of participation, the team has earned several prestigious awards, including the Best Team Spirit Award (2009, 2012), the Communications Award (2014, 2017, 2022 – runner-ups), and the Technical Innovation Award (2015, 2018, 2019). Notably, the team also made history in 2010 by developing the first fully automated remote-controlled prototype and won the Shell Dream Concept Car Award in 2016.

The Journey to SEMA 2025

This year, we are focused on the Shell Eco-marathon Asia, scheduled to be held in Qatar in February 2025. With a rich history of participation in this prestigious competition, we are preparing to uphold our legacy and further refine our expertise. Team Envision focuses on achieving maximum energy efficiency in two main vehicle categories: Urban Concept and Prototype. Team Envision is diligently working on both, with a strong commitment to achieving excellence on the global stage, both technically and on the non-technical side of the competition.

For SEMA 2025, Team Envision has raised the bar with the introduction of two new vehicles:

1. Prototype Vehicle: Team Envision’s prototype vehicle is a fully electric, single-seater, three-wheeler designed with a mild steel chassis for durability and strength. Its lower body is crafted from carbon fibre, while the upper body features glass fibre for optimal balance between the weight and structural integrity. Powered by lithium-ion batteries, this vehicle is built to achieve exceptional energy efficiency and performance.
2. Urban Concept Vehicle: Team Envision’s urban vehicle is a fully electric, single-seater designed specifically for urban environments. Featuring a monocoque chassis, it ensures structural integrity and enhanced safety while maintaining a lightweight design. The body, made entirely of glass fiber, combines strength with efficiency, making it a practical solution for sustainable transportation in modern cities.
