ARY News reported that Onya Andrew, a US woman who traveled to Karachi for love, has located the residence of her Pakistani partner in the city’s Garden area.
Onya, who hopes to marry the 19-year-old Karachi resident, has been waiting in the building’s parking lot since morning, refusing to leave. Reports suggest she was allegedly lured to Pakistan with promises of marriage. Speaking to the media, she claimed her sole purpose for visiting Pakistan was to get married and that she intended to stay.
A two-member team from the U.S. Consulate in Karachi met with airport authorities and Onya Andrew to persuade her to return to the U.S.
Onya was brought to Jinnah International Airport Karachi earlier on Wednesday but refused to leave Pakistan. Distressed over the failed relationship, she created a scene at the airport, initially refusing to go through immigration and later declining to board her flight.
According to airport sources, she continued to delay her departure with various excuses. Security personnel took her into protective custody and escorted her to the departure lounge, but she refused to board, causing a 36-minute flight delay. Officials clarified that passengers cannot be forcibly put on a flight due to security protocols.
Onya Andrew reportedly fell in love with 19-year-old Nadal Meman, a Karachi resident, through social media. Despite being a mother of two, she traveled to Karachi on October 11. While Nadal was initially willing to marry her, his family opposed the union. After spending months in Karachi, her return ticket expired.
With her visit visa now expired, airport authorities attempted to deport her, but she was handed over to the airport police by the ASF.
