The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly set to announce the national squad for the upcoming tri-nation series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 later today. Pakistan remains the only team yet to announce its initial squad for the tournament.
According to local media sources, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abdullah Shafique, and Abbas Afridi are likely to be dropped from the Pakistan squad that toured South Africa, while Saim Ayub will not recover in time to participate. Meanwhile, Saud Shakeel, Fakhar Zaman, Aamer Jamal, and Khushdil Shah are expected to make a return.
Aamer Jamal and Khushdil Shah were recently recalled from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) by the PCB, while Fakhar Zaman and Saud Shakeel have earned their spots based on strong performances in recent matches.
Expected 15-Member Pakistan Squad
- Batters: Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Tayyab Tahir, Saud Shakeel
- Wicketkeepers: Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan
- All-rounders: Agha Salman, Aamer Jamal, Khushdil Shah

Reports indicate that the selection committee finalized discussions for Pakistan Squad during the Test series against the West Indies, with only PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s final approval pending before the official announcement.
The tri-nation ODI series, which begins on February 8, is expected to feature the same squad that will represent Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
As per ICC regulations, the PCB must submit its final squad by February 11. Any changes beyond this deadline will require approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
