Pakistan and Bangladesh, once part of the same country, separated after a violent civil war, with East Pakistan emerging as the independent nation of Bangladesh. Since then, Bangladesh’s leadership, particularly under Sheikh Hasina’s government, has maintained close ties with India while keeping Pakistan at a distance. However, following the removal of Hasina’s government in August, relations between Dhaka and Islamabad have started to improve, leading to stronger trade and diplomatic ties.

Earlier this week, during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), the envoy announced that cargo flights between Dhaka, Karachi, and Lahore would also begin soon, further boosting trade and business exchanges.

Hussain reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to enhancing business partnerships with Pakistan and highlighted the ease of obtaining Bangladeshi visas online for Pakistani citizens.
