The superintendent of Government College for Women, Nazimabad, has absconded with ₹910,200 in cash collected as student exam fees.
Following a complaint from the college principal, a case has been registered against the superintendent at Rizvia Society Police Station.
According to the complainant, Shehla Bashir, a Grade 20 professor serving as the principal of Government College for Women, Nazimabad, she learned three days ago from the college staff that students were arriving to collect their admit cards, but the cards had not been issued.
The responsibility for issuing the admit cards lay with the college superintendent, Muhammad Nafees, a Grade 17 officer. Upon further inquiry, it was revealed that Muhammad Nafees had fraudulently collected ₹910,200 in exam fees from approximately 81 students but had kept the money instead of depositing it into the bank.
In October 2024, a notice had been posted on the college wall advising students and parents not to hand over cash to any staff member and to obtain a bank voucher instead.
The complainant further stated that more students have reported similar complaints and that the superintendent was last seen at the college on January 25. Since then, he has not returned.
Shehla Bashir has accused Muhammad Nafees, son of Ashrafuddin, of embezzling student exam fees and has demanded legal action.
Following the registration of the case, police have launched a search operation to apprehend the suspect. Authorities have assured that the superintendent will be arrested soon.
