The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has updated the Geology degree curricula to reflect the latest advancements in the field, ensuring that academic programs are responsive to industry demands and global trends.
Over a two-day consultative session led by Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Muhammad Shah at the HEC Regional Center in Lahore, geology experts and senior faculty members from universities across Pakistan collaborated on these revisions.
The revised curricula for Associate Degree, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science in Geology aim to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications, incorporating modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, computational modeling, and geospatial analytics.
New specialized courses, such as AI & Computational Geology, have been introduced to provide students with advanced technological skills crucial for contemporary geological research and industry practices.
Once formally approved by HEC management, the revised curricula will be disseminated to universities nationwide for implementation
