After 35 years, the National Horse and Cattle Show made a grand return at Fortress Stadium, officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam Nawaz marked the occasion with a digital handprint, expressing her deep affection for Punjab and wishing for its continued prosperity. She warmly welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival.
A traditional buggy ride carried the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Punjab to the saluting platform, where horsemen formally requested permission to begin the event. Once approved, the festivities kicked off with vibrant performances.
International tent pegging teams from the United States, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and other nations participated, along with archery teams from Iran, Turkey, and Tajikistan.
The livestock exhibition featured elite buffalo breeds, dancing camels, and various sheep and goat varieties. Cultural floats representing different regions added to the spectacle.
Slovak artists captivated the audience with laser light displays, while a Macedonian band played Punjabi music. Folk performances, a mesmerizing dervish dance, and energetic drumming kept the crowd engaged.
Atif Aslam’s live performance excited the audience, and drones lit up the night sky with national symbols. Families in attendance cheered enthusiastically, with the Chief Minister receiving an overwhelmingly warm reception.
