Punjab Govt to Give Free Wheelchairs and Hearing Aids

The Punjab government has announced special initiatives to improve the lives of people with disabilities, under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The initiatives will provide assistive devices and improve accessibility for such individuals.

Individuals with mobility impairments will receive free wheelchairs, while those with hearing impairments will get hearing aids.

Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized her government’s commitment to supporting these individuals, stating, “We will fulfill our promise to rehabilitate and improve the lives of special individuals.”

An online portal has been launched where eligible individuals can apply for these assistive devices. The portal, adwc.punjab.gov.pk, simplifies the application procedure and makes it more accessible.

Applicants will need to provide their CNIC or b-form along with a disability certificate issued by the District Disability Assessment Board. In addition to the online portal, the government has established a dedicated helpline, 1312, to provide information and assistance.

Furthermore, guidance and information can also be obtained from the district offices of the Social Welfare Department in the respective districts.
