Apple is reportedly gearing up to unveil the much-anticipated iPhone SE 4, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicting an announcement by next week. Previously, he suggested a launch this week, but his latest update points to a slight delay.
According to Gurman, Apple plans multiple announcements over the next few days. Apple will make a smaller announcement today, followed by an Apple Vision Pro update on Friday. The company also plans to introduce a new MacBook Air with the M4 chip in the coming weeks.
Interestingly, there is no mention of a dedicated launch event for the iPhone SE 4, suggesting Apple may introduce it via a press release, similar to some previous SE models. Given its status as Apple’s most affordable smartphone, this approach might make sense, although many believe it deserves a bigger spotlight since it serves as an entry point into the Apple ecosystem for many users.
iPhone SE 4 Expected Features and Pricing
Apple will likely design the iPhone SE 4 based on the iPhone 14, equipping it with a 6.06-inch FHD+ LTPS OLED display featuring a 60Hz refresh rate. The front will house a notch for Face ID and the front camera, a departure from Touch ID, and the home button found in previous SE models.
The device will sport a single rear camera, possibly from the iPhone 16 series. It is also rumored to have some level of water resistance. Under the hood, the A18 chip will power the iPhone SE 4, paired with 8GB of RAM, enabling Apple Intelligence features.
Pricing and Competition
Reports suggest that Apple will launch the iPhone SE 4 at $499, increasing the price by $70 compared to its predecessor, the iPhone SE (2022). However, this pricing aligns with Google’s expected price for the upcoming Pixel 9a, positioning the next iPhone SE as a strong competitor in the mid-range smartphone market.
