The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted dry weather across most regions today (February 17), with humidity levels between 31% and 35%. Meanwhile, Islamabad’s air quality index has been recorded at 152, indicating poor air quality.
After an extended dry spell, a rain system is expected between February 18 and 20. The system is likely to bring rainfall to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and various parts of Punjab.
In Punjab, including Lahore, the weather will remain cloudy, with intermittent sunshine throughout the day. However, no rainfall is expected today. The minimum temperature in Lahore has been recorded at 10°C, with a maximum of 25°C. Rain is expected to begin from February 19 in different districts of the province.
Meteorologists predict that strong western winds will impact Pakistan until February 22, bringing widespread rain and snowfall. Around 80% of northern areas, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, are likely to experience rain and snow.
Balochistan is expected to receive good rainfall, with snowfall likely in Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Khuzdar.
While some areas in Sindh, such as Sukkur and Larkana, may experience drizzle, Karachi is unlikely to see rain. However, the city may remain partly cloudy.
Multiple rain spells are expected in Punjab and Islamabad from February 19 to 21, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing dry conditions.
