Children’s Favourite Candy Labeled as Sweet Poison

The Deputy Commissioner of Multan has issued a public warning, urging parents to keep their children away from a candy called “Strawberry Quick,” which he described as a new form of “sweet poison,” ARY News reported.

According to details, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Bukhari stated that the candy poses a significant health risk to children. He warned that “Strawberry Quick” is a “deadly poison,” as it allegedly contains crystal meth disguised as candy. He emphasized that parents often trust seemingly harmless sweets to appease their children, making such products go unnoticed and frequently chosen.

Parents are advised to remain vigilant and prevent their children from accepting or consuming any suspicious candy, including those classified as “sweet poison.”

Meanwhile, similar concerns have emerged in Peshawar, where reports indicate the sale of harmful lollipops in the People’s Market. Aware of the rising drug addiction trend among children, the district administration took swift action.

Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram revealed that harmful lollipops are contributing to ice drug addiction among children. Authorities have arrested several shopkeepers involved in this illicit trade and have confiscated dangerous products to safeguard children and society.

These incidents have sparked broader discussions on the need for stricter regulations and public awareness campaigns to educate families about the dangers of certain products disguised as candy. Community leaders and parents are encouraged to work together to monitor children’s consumption and ensure a safe environment free from harmful substances.

Addressing the growing threat of drug-related issues among youth requires a culture of vigilance and proactive measures to protect future generations.
