In a significant move during its fourth board meeting, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) decided to allot land to the National Police Academy for establishing a police university in Islamabad.
Additionally, the board formed a committee headed by Member Finance to identify CDA’s rented spaces across the capital. The committee comprises the Director of Land, the Director of Municipal Administration, and the Director General Building Control Section.
The meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, also focused on modernizing financial operations. It was decided that all CDA transactions will now be cashless through the SAP double-entry accounting system.
An MoU will be signed soon, with CDA staff meeting the Controller General of Pakistan next week to discuss SAP implementation.
The board emphasized financial transparency, instructing that all CDA assets be compiled before the end of the current financial year. Chairman Randhawa also directed the preparation of an annual corporate-style financial report detailing achievements and targets.
On a cultural note, the authority acknowledged the deteriorating condition of the Pak-Romania Friendship Monument and took notice of its needed restoration.
These decisions reflect CDA’s commitment to modernization, financial transparency, and infrastructure development in Islamabad.
