In heartbreaking news for animal lovers in Karachi, two elephants at the Safari Park—Madhubala and Malika—have been diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB), following the recent death of Sonia the elephant, reported 24NewsHD TV on Thursday.
After Sonia’s sudden passing two months ago, experts conducted comprehensive medical examinations on the remaining elephants. Blood, urine, and other lab tests were carried out by a team comprising the International Wild Expert Four Paws Team, Sri Lankan veterinarians, and specialists from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore.

The post-mortem report confirmed that Sonia died from tuberculosis, prompting immediate testing of the other elephants. The findings revealed that Madhubala and Malika are also battling the deadly disease.
The situation has raised serious concerns for Karachi’s children and wildlife enthusiasts, who frequent the Safari Park to see these majestic creatures. Efforts are underway to provide urgent medical care to the infected elephants to prevent further tragedy.
