CDA Holds Balloting For Residential Plots in Margalla Enclave

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Islamabad held a balloting ceremony on Monday for residential plots in Margalla Enclave, a collaborative housing project between the two entities.

The event took place at the Jacaranda Family Club in DHA Phase-2, Islamabad, with notable attendees including CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Acting Administrator of DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi Brig (retd) Ghulam Murtaza, other senior officials, and a large number of applicants.

High Public Interest

An official revealed that the project attracted significant interest, receiving approximately 47,000 applications for plots measuring 125, 250, and 500 square yards.

Commitment to Quality Housing

Speaking at the event, Chairman Randhawa highlighted that Margalla Enclave marks the beginning of long-term cooperation between CDA and DHA to address the housing shortage in Islamabad.

“This joint venture aims to deliver quality housing facilities in the federal capital. Development work is progressing swiftly, and successful applicants will be able to take possession of their plots within a year,” Randhawa assured.

Project Details & Relocation Plans

The Project Director of Margalla Enclave noted that around 1,000 residents from the villages of Rehara and Kurri, located within the project site, will be relocated and fairly compensated for their land.

Prime Location & Accessibility

Nestled at the foothills of the Margalla Hills, the Margalla Enclave project spans approximately 10,000 kanals. It will be easily accessible via link roads from Park Road and Srinagar Highway. Additionally, the development will be adjacent to the Margalla Botanical Garden, which CDA and DHA plan to jointly enhance.

This large-scale housing initiative represents a significant step toward meeting Islamabad’s growing residential needs while ensuring modern infrastructure and sustainable living.
