Large Amount of Banned Energy Drinks Seized and Wasted

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a major operation in Rawalpindi, seizing a large quantity of banned energy drinks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The raid took place in the Ganj Mandi area near Bajaur Tower, where officials confiscated energy drinks valued at approximately Rs450,000. According to a PFA spokesperson, around 500,000 ml of the prohibited beverages were subsequently destroyed by pouring them into a drain.

The drinks were being transported to a warehouse using labor pushcarts. As a result, the warehouse owner was fined 50,000 for storing the banned products.

The PFA spokesperson stated that the ban on these energy drinks is enforced throughout the province and emphasized that the crackdown against their distribution and sale is ongoing.
